This week has been more or less devoted to the artwork. Donna continued to add on to the dialog, and then worked on the character graphics. We started off by creating the characters that would be playing the most important roles, and making them distinguishable. We then continued to create some more generic characters which fit our description of townspeople of that World.
Elyse continued to work on the maps for each levels and the elements in them. We sketched out our main surroundings so that we were able to plot the flow of the game and the placement considerations of the elements in our worlds (characters and animations).
Project Goals
Our goal is to provide first and second year University students with a simple game that allows them to build the intuition and understanding of pointers as used in high level languages like C/C++. An educational game online could help motivate and engage these students to participate in a meaningful and educational activity and to explore key concepts outside of the classroom. Putting their theory into practice reinforces the theoretical elements and aids in their retention.
